The release workflow’s build job failed because dependency installation ran with pnpm 8, which ignored the repo’s pnpm-lock.yaml (lockfileVersion 9) and pulled an invalid transitive package tarball. This updates workflow tooling alignment so installs respect the lockfile during release builds.

• Root cause addressed

  • wyvox/action-setup-pnpm@v3 resolved to pnpm 8 by default in release.yaml.
  • pnpm 8 treated the lockfile as incompatible, bypassed locked resolution, and failed during transitive fetch.

• Workflow change

  • Pinned pnpm major version in the release job’s dependency setup step to match lockfile format expectations.

• Net effect

  • Release build dependency resolution is lockfile-driven again, avoiding drift from unlocked transitive resolution.
