Description

On the Dashboards, Charts and Datasets list pages, filters, sort order, pagination and view mode are lost when navigating to another page via the top menu and then coming back. For example:

  1. Go to Dashboards, filter by owner and a tag, sort by "Last modified".
  2. Click Charts in the top menu.
  3. Click Dashboards again → all filters and sorting are reset.

Users who regularly move between these lists (e.g. find a dashboard → inspect its charts → check the dataset) have to re-apply the same filters each time. Browser Back does restore them, but menu navigation and links do not.

Design input

  • We want to add a "Clear all filters" button to reset filters across all tabs
  • Will likely reuse the existing button components to preserve design theme

Hi! @orion222 I’d like to work on this issue. Could you please assign it to me?

My rough plan is to persist filters, sort order, pagination, and view mode per list page (Dashboards, Charts, Datasets) when navigating away and back, with explicit URL params taking priority so shared links and Back/Forward keep working. I’d also add tests for restoration and clearing.

    Two questions before I start:

Should persistence be session-based (e.g. sessionStorage) or something else?
Should “Clear all filters” reset all three list pages, or only the currently open one?
